Greetings from West Palm Beach...
... the Owners Meetings are this week. Here's what we'll have at Go Long.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Good morning! Coming to you LIVE from the NFL Owners Meetings.
I can assure you all that my rental car has a spare tire.
The No. 1 goal on this Florida reporting trip? Don’t get stranded on the I-95 with possums at 2 a.m.
Surely, your social-media timelines are already getting spammed with governmental gobbledygook. Ugh. No thanks. We’re not here for any deep dives on a looming 18-game schedule. That sort of hypocrisy is nothing new from the shield. (“Safety!” they tell us.) And honestly, I’m Tush Push’d out. All NFL bureaucracy this time of year is a bummer. So, no, we won’t doggy paddle in the icky minutiae of rule changes over the next 72 hours.
Instead, the goal is to get some valuable face time with NFL head coaches and execs for columns that’ll roll out over the coming days. I’ll also be connecting with a pair of players in South Florida for profiles.
You can follow along on Substack Notes and inside the Chat if you’d like. Will share thoughts throughout the week.
Bob McGinn’s 41st draft series also marches on. We’re halfway through his 12-parter.
Miss the quarterbacks? The scouts had a lot to say on Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders and the entire class. McGinn’s annual series is accessible to paid subscribers:
