We’re going to take our cue from Damar Hamlin. One day after doctors made clear the Buffalo Bills safety was on the road to recovery, Hamlin addressed his teammates on a Zoom call to top all Zoom calls.

He made the shape of a heart.

He flexed both muscles.

I think it’s OK to discuss football again.

Here at Go Long, we decided to hit pause on features for a week. Expect our regular scheduled programming next week ahead of the NFL postseason. I’ll have a profile on magnetic Cincinnati Bengals nose tackle D.J. Reader, while Bob McGinn’s illuminating “McGinn Files” series continues with a fascinating look back at the rise of Peyton Manning.
