With one simple question, Terry Pegula asks fans what's most important. Go Long attended the press conference that set the sports world ablaze. Here's our column on the state of the Buffalo Bills.
Great stuff as usual Ty. Almost everything we’ve seen/experienced this week has its roots in 13 Seconds. If McD was the main factor behind that loss — and I believe he was — then what happens to the McD soothsayers if the Bills win the SB next year … and the next year … and …
Honestly, I'd probably trace all of our Bills reporting back to that game, too. Heard that word "execution" at his presser, started placing calls and was stunned by the coach's immediate reaction: https://www.golongtd.com/p/it-was-a-bad-bad-situation
Still, it was surprising to hear that game come up as much as it did this week with people in conversation. It has lingered more than anticipated.
"And then over the next hour, I barely got in 15 words as he went on… and on… and on… about how he’d kill to be the next Bills head coach."
Absolutely. You get the opportunity to coach Superman just entering his prime. You'd have to be insane not to want that opportunity regardless of whatever else may or may not be happening.
A couple of questions for you Tyler.
You wrote Daboll was leaving regardless of whether or not he got the NYG job. Can you expound on this statement. Was the relationship between him and McDermott that fractured?
Any idea why Beane isn't at least interviewing Flores for HC?
On Daboll/McD, it was very, very, very fractured. He was gone one way or another. Remember, multiple assistants took lateral jobs to leave from that specific staff.
Pettine moved from the d side in 2024 to the offensive side on 2025. flores basically fired him from D. Not shocked at Pettine's response tbh. I put more credence in what his players had to say about him in your article than a disgruntled Pettine.
I'd guess Daboll was leaving because he'd be committed to the NFL's version of a psych ward if he didn't take the inevitable HC offer that was coming his way, much less one from a storied program like the Giants.
This article alone would be worth the price of a subscription. I'm like a kid on Christmas morning knowing that we will have insight to a huge NFL coaching search and all that goes on behind the scenes as it unfolds. Popping my popcorn!
The national media’s focus on Josh Allen’s “terrible” performance in Denver, and his unilateral blame for the loss, had my head spinning. The reality was that yet again, the defense failed them in the biggest game of the season. Thanks for making me feel sane.
What a great article. And holy hell, this is so spot on Tyler:
"the monolithic urinal trough that is Twitter/X"
Ha! Thank you, Zak.
And like a urinal trough, it is unfortunately necessary. I'll hurl myself into the slop to try to get folks over here. Ultimate conundrum.

I'm a fan of your work and never more than right now. You were made for this moment and this unfolding story.
Always love seeing your name pop up as a reader, Robert. Means everything coming from you.
Offseason only getting started. Will be sure to stay on everything Bills/Beane/Allen/new HC...
Well done, TD
Great read
Ty,
send this honest and well informed article to Florio PFT and the other NFL click bait clowns who call themselves journalists and insiders.
Your the real deal. That why I subscribed yesterday. Thanks man !
Thrilled to have you, Adam. Thank you for finding us here! Hope you're able to navigate the site for old Bills stories, too.
The three-parter's unlocked now, too. Starting here: https://www.golongtd.com/p/the-mcdermott-problem-part-i-blame
Jordan Poyer was fantastic: https://www.golongtd.com/p/jordan-poyers-last-stand
Back to last year, I liked getting to know Ray Davis a bit as well: https://www.golongtd.com/p/i-let-motherf-kers-know-its-a-long
So many good nuggets in this piece.

Thank you, Kevin! Absolutely can follow up here on any questions anyone has.
Haven't heard anything on Brian Flores. But did find Mike Pettine's comments wild. Yikes: https://x.com/PhilMackey/status/2014701811047776413?s=20

Interesting about Daboll/McDermott.

Getting a HC offer to leave makes perfect sense. But that's not what was implied in Tyler's article.
All I can say here is WOW. Great article!
Great article. Apparently now Philip Rivers threw his hat in the ring.

Hell yeah! Honored to have you all!
Psyched for the offseason to chase the Whys and Hows behind everything we just saw on the field for all 32 teams.
This is fire! 🔥
After listening to Pegula and Beane I’m convinced that Josh Allen is the only real difference between the Bills and the Jets
And you'd be a lot closer to the truth than most think.
