"FAVRE" has arrived
Introducing our new show at Go Long. The Green Bay Packers legend will share war stories, follow the 2023 NFL season and tackle all issues in football as only he can. (You can hang out with us, too.)
The icon needs no introduction. I’m thrilled to share that this 2023 NFL season, Go Long is welcoming the incomparable, Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre on for a new show.
“FAVRE” promises to be an experience that’s the first of its kind.
For an hour-plus, the three-time MVP will relive untold war stories from his surreal 20-year NFL career. There was never a Brett Favre before he took over ‘92 and there will never be another. He’ll offer his insight and analysis on all of the current NFL action. This is a transformative year for the franchise he put back on the map. You’ll get Favre’s perspective on Jordan Love and the new Green Bay Packers.
And — always — we will take on big-picture issues in pro football. Concussions. Painkillers. The beauty and scars of the sport will be revealed in their entirety through the quarterback who bared his soul.
Episodes are exclusive to Go Long subscribers at GoLongTD.com:
Everyone could see part of themselves in Favre.
His passion for the sport was obviously palpable.

As detailed this week, the mission of Go Long is to deliver football in the raw. Through 321 consecutive starts, that was Favre. He was one of you. He brought all of America along with him. You were with the QB when he hoisted his helmet up high after a Super Bowl touchdown strike to Andre Rison. You were with the QB when he played one day after his father died. You were with him through a magical ‘07 and… everything that followed. Yes, he became a Viking. Yes, he sought revenge. I first got to know Favre in 2014 when I covered the Packers at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. We connected at his home for this feature.
That following season, it also probably felt like you were with the quarterback when he made amends with the Packers and had his No. 4 retired.
Now, you can listen, watch or even ask The Gunslinger anything you’d like.
We recorded Episode 1 already. Expect to see that go live shortly.
One more thing: In the spirit of Go Long, “FAVRE” is completely independent. This show is 100 percent fueled by you. No ads, no sponsors. Only our readers.
Thank you, everyone.
I appreciate any and all feedback here in our Go Long world. This is a community. Everything — always — is up for discussion.
As you hopefully have seen by now in the first Brett Favre episode, the Mississippi case is brought up five minutes in. To the extent he can, Favre addressed it. And, as he noted, he’ll share a lot more when the gag order is lifted. Nothing will be glossed over.
Clint put it well here in the comments. Favre — like an infinite number of all-time greats — has many dimensions to him. He’s always been transparent and this show will be transparent. You cannot tell the story of the sport without Brett Favre, and that story isn’t shared through rose-colored glasses. Favre won’t hide. I think you’ll find the first episode incredibly insightful, as well as future shows.
Thanks, gang. You can reach me any time.
Side note: I’ll have our final season preview story live Saturday morning on Kenny Pickett.
I'm fan and was very excited to see that Bob McGinn is going to be a contributor again. This news has me disappointed. Podcasting with somebody who has at best a checkered past, has recently been part of a scheme to defraud the State of Mississippi out of a lot of money, and has generally shown no contrition for his bad behavior is not a good look. I'm canceling.
