Take shelter. The cruel spawn of the Mock Draft — NFL DRAFT GRADES — commenced its assault at dawn.
There’s no escape. Be safe. Hug your loved ones.
And if you’d rather see what NFL scouts and executives think about the players your favorite team drafted, all links from Bob McGinn’s 39th Annual NFL Draft Series are below.
Joking aside, there’s nothing wrong with analyzing a team’s draft. We’ve done it here. But mocks and specific grades have become such a grift. For the love, these draft picks haven’t even reported to rookie minicamp yet. McGinn spent several weeks catching up with personnel men to give you a sense for how the league views these draft prospects. Opinions are all over the place, and that’s exactly what life’s like inside NFL draft meetings.
Of course, teams will be critical.
Their jobs are on the line. One bad pick can get you fired. This is a high-pressure business for everyone.
Also, I want to thank everyone again for your readership. Absolutely blown away by the support. Scout Extras: Packers go wild for tight ends, Giants steal Jalin Hyatt, Bills add to O-Line. Bob McGinn empties the notebook on these Day 2 prospects. Tucker Kraft, Green Bay's 78th overall pick, drew rave reviews: "He reminded me of Gronkowski. ... He can be the best of the group.”
Scout Extras: Inside Green Bay's gambles. Here's what the personnel men said about Colby Wooden, Sean Clifford and all nine of the Packers' Day 3 draft picks.

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens give hope to humanity. In the nick of time, too. Baltimore is doing right by its MVP quarterback. Compromise can be a hell of a drug.
The Atlanta Falcons have stepped into the ring. This isn't how teams are supposed to build but the Falcons don't care. With Bijan Robinson, they’ll make their move in the NFC.
Next 'Joe Burrow?' The scouts' take on No. 1 pick Bryce Young. The Carolina Panthers make the Alabama quarterback their top pick.
Brian Gutekunst is the captain now. Uh, "risk?" The risk is convincing yourself an apathetic 39-year-old quarterback finds the fountain of youth.
Why ECU's Keaton Mitchell believes he's the next Chris Johnson

Hot take for the day: Draft grades are much more of a sports media scourge than mock drafts.
