Really on top of your game here, Tyler. Excellent piece.

Watched every snap of this kid as I’m a generational Bama fan. He has touch and can sling it quickly to the sidelines. Needs to know when the play is over as he tries to escape backwards which will lead to huge losses because pro guys aren’t slow. He moves around the pocket well. His pre-snap diagnosis is where he excels. Son of a coach he knows what defenses are doing and are likely to do. Moves players with his eyes very well. Can pull it and get yards but not very fast or quick. His drop off came the minute he first got hurt. Even the Florida St. game you can’t really pin on him and had Bama had any semblance of a running game this pick would’ve been praised. Very accurate in the middle of the hashes too. Being able to sit will help as he takes coaching very well and won’t make the same mistake twice. Not a “system” QB. Has a brain. Will be a very good NFL QB. Feel free to bring this up 5 years from now.
