This feels like a lot of empty talk. And I'm not a Mayfield hater. I'd love to see him succeed, partially because he was so good in college and has shown flashes, and partially because I generally like to see players succeed. But his QBR last year was 35.1, and that's in his fourth year. A QB shouldn't be declining that late in their career without a standout season to lean on, especially with a fairly solid team. At the end of the day Baker just needs to play better.
Great article. It's easy to get caught up in the fantasy football stats. Talking heads mostly talk about stats and numbers, but there is still something to be said for guts, toughness, and the gun slinger mentality too.
