Week in Review: Bills-Bengals meet again
There's no snow in the forecast. Good news for Buffalo, I suppose.
CINCINNATI — Who knew an innocent Happy Hour could ignite such a wildfire?
Hanging out with Go Long subscribers this offseason, ex-Bills receiver Isaiah McKenzie made an excellent point on the Cincinnati Bengals being more equipped to play in the snow than the Buffalo Bills. He was 100 percent correct. If anything, McKenzie was criticizing the state of Buffalo’s offense. Not necessarily ripping Cincinnati.
Said McKenzie: “The Bengals ran basic routes, maybe we should’ve done that, ran basic routes. Like out routes, go balls, you know, instead of running routes that you have to be going lateral or coming back to the football, or turning and running curls and things like that. If we were in a dome it would have been a totally different game.”
Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd didn’t forget, bringing up the comments this week.
Seriously, this why we love football.
It’s a violent game played by violent people and the season is… long. Very long. You’ve got to find something to get you going. And no team has been able harness slights quite like the Bengals the last 2 1/2 seasons.
Here’s the full chat with McKenzie.
And here’s the snow clip. You be the judge:
See you inside the Gameday Chat on Sunday. I’ll share the sights ‘n sounds from Paycor Stadium. This is a massive game for both the Bills and Bengals.
