This has been the offseason of the Unhappy Quarterback. Some got what they wanted. Others, like Aaron Rodgers, have not. How teams navigate this all will change the NFL as we know it.
the full interview with Murphy was very interesting. It changed my mindset on the comment about being "a complicated fella". It certainly is a complicated situation, but from this armchair GM Rodgers can sit this year and trade him next year
Tyler. Tyler. Tyler. Hard to agree with the statement “An owner turning his back on a promise — on a reason Watson signed a contract to begin with — seems to justify the hurt feelings here.”
IF that was A reason, I think it was probably 156,000,001 on the list.
And again. Eli won one more ring that the baby in Green Bay, had less talent around him for much longer, never said a peep when they drafted his replacement and only spoke out when an amateur disguised as a coach replaced him with Geno Smith. Geno Smith! Imagine if that happened to Aaron Trebek???
The Green Bay baby may have been more talented but I’ll take Eli’s extra ring and class act every day of the week.
We have always known Rodgers is smart, thoughtful, and petty. Like Jordan it is both what makes him great while also making him seem very small.
It has been obvious from Schefter's draft day tweet that Rodgers could make this all go away but as he has proven repeatedly he won't do that. As you say, he enjoys watching people twist.
I would do nothing if I was Green Bay. I would certainly Not Talk About It to the media, though. Either he plays, or he does not. If he shows up, and he gives the Packers the best chance to win, he starts. Thompson's Rainman-like ability to focus on the real issue was critical to the Favre/Rodgers transition ... but there are not a lot of GMs like him. Packers FO should channel his words less and his actions more.
I thought general consensus was that Rodgers is upset with Murphy, not Gute? I do agree that he's being a baby, and the shirt was just a troll dick move. But the Packers are not trading Aaron Rodgers.
I'm glad Love is getting some practice in, though, because I wouldn't put it past Rodgers to retire.

Tyler, loved your work covering the Packers - finally joined-up.

I can't read enough about this guy. Holy hell he's nuts.
