He isn't depressed. He isn't being abused anymore. No, Kramer is living and Kramer is more focused and determined than ever to make sure others don't live the same hell he did.
the NFL should bring Erik Kramer in as a consultant/ adviser for the former players who fear CTE and possible financial predators. Possibly a free legal service to set up trusts or at least explain the benefits of a trust.
This made me sad, angry, hurt, depressed and pissed off. One hell of an example of great journalism Ty. God bless Erik. That woman and those lawyers and DA deserve a lot worse than jail time and/or loss of jobs.
But as always, I have a bone to pick. Why is any of this the NFL’s fault? I’m sorry, I will never agree with that premise. High risk/high reward. Now should the Lions or the Bears have reached out to help? Of course. Were they asked? I’ve read many stories on how the Maras help many old Giants out. Maybe it’s true. Maybe it’s not. But as a business owner, once my employee stops working for me my responsibility to them ends. Sure I would help if I could but that would be my choice. But that’s every owner’s decision. Now the NFLPA is another story. It’s PLAYER’S ASSOCIATION. THEY are supposed to take care of their own. Again, awesome job and Best of luck to Erik. Thanks!

Tyler and Eric:
A heart wrenching drama with a wonderful, if not bittersweet resolution. This needs to be made into a epic movie.
Thank you, Eric. This needs to be heard by everyone. It’s so incredibly important.
Thank you, Tyler. I may have never known about this. Thank you!

What a sobering story; I'm so glad his life has reached what sounds like a good state.
The issues raised by his experiences should help spur changes to better protect the vulnerable.
Another outstanding effort, Ty. Thank you and Erik for bringing his story to light.
Incredible story and so well written to be this to your readers.
