Superb as always Mr Dunne. During your interaction with McD did you get a sense that he was coming from a " friends close, enemies closer " place? He always seemed to be trying to hide his insecurity afraid to acknowledge his lengthy list of crippling legacy altering decisions. I don't see the fake punt call as being a positive sign for McD in any way. In retrospect his explanation and doubling down on his decision is alarming and disturbingly predictable. I love that the article puts the focus and pressure squarely on our biggest hurdle. A Super Bowl win or he has to go. PERIOD.

Finally. Beane articulating a focus on playoff grit, character and mindset rather than 12 regular season wins. A WR room with size and physicality. Josh empowered and unleashed. Let's go!

I subscribed because of the three part series and thought that it made a lot of sense. It pointed out lots of ways McD was failing. And despite lots of talk that he didn’t read it (maybe he didn’t!), I did see a change. More going for it, more taking risks in general. And sometimes those don’t work out! That’s the risk you take when you… take risks. I’m also a fan of stupid trick plays so hell yeah, fake punt!

I think the Bills are going to surprise a lot of people. Tom Brady rarely had a heralded group of receivers, but seemed to do ok. The biggest area of improvement that needs to happen is the defensive line. Chris Jones seems to be unblockable at times for the Chiefs, Ed Oliver needs to become that for the Bills. Mahomes, Burrow, Jackson, or whatever QB they face in January need to have a genuine fear that they're going to get knocked on their ass. It's amazing how much better your dbs are if they don't have to maintain coverage for 3.5 seconds. Can't wait for the season to start.
