Sunday's 41-15 loss was the worst loss of Sean McDermott's tenure as the Bills' head coach. This is a team getting shoved around weekly. We explain how it got here and if there's still hope in 2021.
Ty, my man ... let me push back slightly on this (I think you're right overall). But in the off-season, you were leading the charge that the Bills had to build themselves with one goal — beat the Chiefs. Mahomes is Jordan. You gotta build to beat him. That's the standard and the goal. So is it possible the Bills did just that, but forgot about the rest of the conference as well? That's the danger with viewing one team as the standard and the goal, because the Chiefs are so specific in how they win and beat you.
Anyways, this Bills team is feeling like a basketball team that can run-and-gun and hit threes, but the second you slow them down (or the three ball isn't falling), they have no answer.
Well said, Brian. Absolutely thought they needed to pony up for a pass rusher in free agency to get after Mahomes but definitely was banging the running game drum after that postseason. Needed some semblance. Bills just haven't been interested at all in trying to win that way and it's catching up to them.
You've been consistent on that, Ty. I just wonder if the defensive focus on stopping Mahomes/Kelce has hurt them when trying to stop running teams?
I don't mind McDermott saying this stuff publicly - he's not a public rock the boat dude - but I do hope there's some fires being lit internally. Man, sure would be nice if reporters had locker room access to talk to players to find out, eh?
Great stuff, Ty. Thrilled to be back on the site as a subscriber. The content here is unmatched.
Love having you back, Mike! Thank you so much for subscribing. We greatly appreciate you.

You got that right. Will do everything I can to fight against these brutal times for access.
