Fans have taken the solid premise of not drafting RB’s high and taken it to an ignorant level. I heard a Packers podcaster this week say he wouldn’t draft Robinson at 13 even if he was the second coming of Adrian Peterson. That’s a really bad take.
Think he goes late teens. Packers simply have no need to trade for him at 13. They could of course trade back and pick him if he is still there later in the 1st, but they have too big a need at TE and also need an OT/Edge player.
Two-fers are intriguing. Robinson can be used as a runner and receiver, per Bob McGinn’s reports from the scouts. Debo Samuel anyone? Give the opposing DCs something else to dilute their preparations.
Same with Sims at WR and punt returner. More bang for the buck. No need to settle on runts when bigger, multi-dimensional talent is out there who are capable of filling more than one role.
