Real Football: Jerry’s World, Ravens’ Apocalypse, Lamar’s future, Kyler Murray...

We’re not mad. We’re disappointed in a few teams, players, developments. Also: What do we make of the Buffalo Bills’ defense as the trade deadline nears?

Jerry Jones turned 84 years old a couple weeks ago.

Age has not brought wisdom.

The Dallas Cowboys owner/president/GM makes the same mistakes era to era. Shame on us for thinking he could elevate this crew to contention in 2026. He’d rather lose with power, than succeed as a hands-off owner. We’ve previously explored Jerry’s World with this series in ‘21 and this column in ‘25. It’s a strange place.

Even in a weak NFC East, they’re struggling. Losses to Jalon Daniels and Gardner Minshew II have Jones balling up a fist to slam the desk in his suite.

On this week’s edition of Real Football, we discuss the most disappointing teams, players, developments as the midway point nears.

Dallas, of course, is at the top of the list.

Back in August, I picked the Baltimore Ravens to win the Super Bowl. Lamar Jackson missed time with an ankle injury. And now, after injuring his thumb, he’s on IR. Baltimore is scrambling for Jacoby Brissett. What’s next for the two-time MVP? We look into the future. And while the Minnesota Vikings are 6-1, it’s been a rough stretch for quarterback Kyler Murray. Looking back at Vikes-Lions, it’s no shock Justin Jefferson was pissed afterward. He was open and the quarterback couldn’t hit him.

As always, we meander into Bills talk. My co-host, Jim Monos, continues to praise this offense as historic. What a return this was for DJ Moore. Can the defense take care of business against this struggling Vikings offense on MNF? I wrote on Greg Rousseau’s breakout season. Monos doesn’t think it means much in the big picture.
