Podcast: Down goes Von Miller
The Buffalo Bills lose the player signed to get them over the Super Bowl hump. How much will this loss sting? Also, are the Detroit Lions about to make a run to the playoffs. Possibly.
This isn’t a death sentence but, next to losing Josh Allen or Stefon Diggs, this is about as bad as it gets for the 2022 Buffalo Bills. Von Miller was signed to that whopper of a contract to chase down Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and all of the juggernaut quarterbacks in the AFC.
In January.
He’s the future Hall-of-Famer with two rings who’s supposed to teach the Bills how to become champions. Now, his season is finished with a torn ACL. Exactly how much does this injury damage the Bills’ Super Bowl hopes? That’s the main topic on this week’s episode of “Go Long with Dunne and Monos” at Fattey Beer Company in Orchard Park, NY. My co-host, former Bills personnel director Jim Monos, remains bullish and does not think GM Brandon Beane should regret a thing.
Also, the 5-7 Detroit Lions are favored to beat the 10-2 Minnesota Vikings. That may sound crazy to us, but not Monos. He sees a Lions team figuring it out. For those new to GoLongTD.com, I took a trip to Detroit in September to hang with their offensive line — the group bringing Dan Campbell’s knee-biting methods to life. Don’t be surprised if the Lions find a way to sneak into the NFC postseason. They’re built the right way.
