Good afternoon, readers.

I hope everyone had an excellent Mother’s Day.

Could spend thousands of words on my own. Little do readers know just how much my Mom does for Go Long behind the scenes — unbelievably selfless, loving, compassionate, drops everything at a moment’s notice to help. I am beyond blessed. We can all agree the mothers in our lives deserve more than one day of our sincere appreciation.

Meanwhile, in sports, I’m still waiting for Game 2 of Sabres-Canadians to start. Let me know when this series resumes. Anthony Edwards is making me eat my NBA hate. Damn, he’s fun to watch. The New York Knicks are apparently an offensive juggernaut. And, of course, Vrabel-Russini photos continue to drop.

A perfect time to mailbag.

The May inbox is full. We’ll divvy up into two parts.

First up, your questions on…

  • The 2026 Buffalo Bills offense. How will it look different?

  • NFL Draft. It’s blown up to comical extremes.

  • NIL. College players make more money than you think. How does this affect NFL team-building?

  • 18 games feels inevitable. There’s one way for the NFL to add another game without being pigs.

  • Kyle Shanahan’s war vs. the draft consensus brings me back to when I wrote a story that enraged the 49er coach.

  • Another look into those Bills HC interviews.

Thanks for participating, all. Let’s get to it.

Hey Ty, great stuff as always. The Beane 1 on 1 was interesting.

What do people around the league think of Joe Brady’s scheme and Buffalo skill players outside of Josh and James Cook? Who are they game-planning for on offense?

Derek C

Strong, direct question. You’ve all heard from Brandon Beane and Joe Brady. Each supplied more detail than I was expecting on where the Bills have been and where the Bills are heading. All fine, all dandy.

To your point, Derek: How are the Bills perceived outside of this building in Orchard Park, NY?

People across the NFL have many thoughts.
