I missed where Hurts signed that big contract. Reminds me when top rookie picks negotiated those big deals in the 2000s and if the QB behind you signed a big deal the QB ahead could ask for more. Sounds like Hurts’ agent can take credit for negotiating the Hurts and Jackson deal. Beane looking like a genius re-signing Allen when he did. Same with Andy Reid and Mahomes.
I'm a diehard Ravens fan and I can't overstate the amount of pure JUNK surrounding Lamar that's come out of the Ravens Twittersphere from December on. All sorts of rumors and innuendo, people using the situation to advance their own agendas, etc. It got to a point where I told folks I wasn't going to talk about the situation; he'd either sign or he won't. And though it wasn't the best offseason before this week, the Ravens FO has a good reputation leaguewide with players. So I believed them when they said they'd get it done. And just about everyone surrounding the team talked about how he wanted to be here. I'm more relieved than happy but even more relieved not to have to deal with the noise anymore.
Not that much into the Ravens and Lamar. But I wholeheartedly agree to your opening paragraph, Tyler. If all of us take only a sliver of that advice and transfer it into our real world, our lives, then maybe there is still hope.
Lets also take a good look at ourselves and be the opposite of plane overhead luggage guy and shopping cart lady...
