Happy Hour Replay: T.J. Lang opens up
What a festive hour-plus with the former Packers/Lions Pro Bowl guard. T.J. Lang revisits his partying nights in Green Bay and explains how he turned his life around.
Our Happy Hours continue with a man who spent a full decade in the trenches: T.J. Lang.
Fantastic stuff from the longtime Packers/Lions guard.
Lang reveals the good, the bad, the ugly (and the hilarious) from his playing days. As a young player, he admittedly drank like a fish. If he was playing in a larger market? Lang says there is no way he would’ve lasted in the NFL. The turning point was 2011. Lang had a heartfelt conversation with his pal Josh Sitton, welcomed his first child into the world and completely turned his life around. On our Happy Hour, Lang details how often he went out those early days in Green Bay and what it took to get his life on track.
Ted Thompson didn’t say much, but Lang will also never forget the few words the GM did share with him. (Words that led to a trip to the barber, too.)
Winning the Super Bowl is a moment Lang will cherish forever. And, yet, he still thinks about that 2014 NFC Championship in Seattle.
Above all — as Lang explains — he is a man who always played with emotion. The scene of No. 70 leaving the field with a foot injury in the 2016 conference title game still sticks with Packers fans.
Here is an unfiltered T.J. Lang. To upgrade and join these Happy Hours, become a VIP member today. You’ll also receive a Go Long hoodie and a copy of “The Blood and Guts: How Tight Ends Save Football.”
