Go Long earns two wins in national Associated Press Sports Editors Contest
Our story on David Long Jr. is recognized nationally, as well as our column writing.
Good morning, friends! We’ve got fun news to share.
Go Long won a pair of awards in the Associated Press Sports Editors annual writing contest, earning Top 10 finishes in both the Long Feature and Columns categories of the C division. APSE is widely considered the most prestigious sports journalism organization in the country. Judges graded all stories last week in-person and remotely. Full results can be found here.
The official order of who placed where in the Top 10 is announced at a later date.
In Long Feature, our piece on linebacker David Long Jr. was recognized. You can read that story here:

In Columns, outlets were asked to submit four stories apiece. Here were our winning entries:
This marks the third straight year that Go Long has been honored by APSE.
In 2022, we placed in both the Beat Writing and Long Feature categories. Back then, it was our profile of Rachaad White that earned third. In 2023, we took first in Long Feature for our feature on wide receiver Zay Jones, while also placing in Projects.
Since inception, the driving goal of Go Long is to bring you longform coverage that brings this sport to life.
I cannot thank everyone enough for hitting pause on life to read, share and subscribe.

Well done! Your hard work is being justly rewarded!
