Nobody will remember what this cost the Bills come January when a potential game-winner flutters downfield. Brandon Beane was overdue for a gamble like this.
I hope DJ has packed his cheese grater hat for the Packers game next season! Sad to see him leave but will continue to root for him. A great guy and has always been massively underrated IMO. A great article as usual, Tyler.
DJ is already a win because he gives Josh hope that he will finally have a clutch WR1 in the playoffs. How they ultimately click on the field will largely determine how far the Bills go in 2026. I hope the two will spend lots of time developing chemistry in the offseason.
I’m nowhere near able to declare this trade a win. Let’s see how a receiver in some level of decline carves out a role in this offense. If he gets his targets and YPC up to 2023 level then sure. But he seems to be on the downside. I’m also concerned about the reports from Bears fans that he didn’t always play hard if he knew the ball wasn’t coming his way.
It seems like a huge overpay but as you said, if he performs then we won’t care.
Adam - a Bears fan of mine said the same thing about the catch in the playoffs - listening to Steve Smith he said Caleb missed the window to throw DJ the ball on that route - according to Steve the window was between the hash marks - if you look at film it was a really late throw. Just a thought …
I am not rooting against the trade at all. We need it to work out. I also recognize that at #60 we aren't likely to get the next Justin Jefferson, so I can see why Beane took this swing. Moore does seem like a solid citizen and hopefully he isn't a diva like some suggest. I cannot condone laziness just because he went from 140 to 85 targets. That is just unacceptable and won't fly here.
Agree 100% I’m hearing he’s a solid teammate and locker room guy. Time will tell but on this end clock is ticking on 17 and the time is now. Have a great day !! go bills
Tyler - this is one of the most insightful looks back and forward vision of what the DJ Moore means to us. Thanks so much for the time - just subscribed and looking forward to commentary tomorrow on Free Agency - AR Mike - Go Bills!!
On the fied, I absolutely agree. Feels like he significantly raises their ceiling by upgrading the deep passing game that failed Josh Allen in big spots in big games.

DJ Moore was a hard player to root for as a bear. Good luck with him.
I’m only halfway through the article, but delighted by the Connor McGovern news. That was quick.
