This weekend: Life on the Detroit Lions' offensive line...
This is a team that leaves zero room for interpretation. The Lions want to kick your ass. But how do they do this? Go Long spent last week with the offensive linemen to find out.
Good morning, everyone!
A quick update here from Go Long HQ: We’ll have our usual weekly longform live on the site a day later than usual.
Last week, I hung out with the Detroit Lions’ offensive line and it was… awesome. Cannot wait for you to learn how this group is bringing everything Dan Campbell preaches to life. It’s a bad-ass unit: Penei Sewell, Taylor Decker, Frank Ragnow and Jonah Jackson all meticulously (and passionately) break down life in the trenches, their unique sources of motivation and how they’re transforming the Lions from within.
Similar to our coverage of the Minnesota Vikings’ culture change, we’ll be breaking this story into two parts. Part I on Saturday AM will feature the individual personalities up front from Sewell’s childhood in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to why Decker serves as this group’s daily compass. Part II on Sunday AM will explain how these individuals come together to bash in the proverbial faces of opponents.
Finally, there’s some real hope for a winner in Detroit.
Hey, we all love real football here at Go Long. Not sure any group of players in the league right now is taking the sport back to its roots quite like the Lions offensive line.

Miss our conversation with Lions running back Jamaal Williams? He’s doing his part to change everything in Detroit, too. Here’s our Q&A from last month:
