Given my obvious opinion about this article, I suggest Mr. Dunne (who is no longer a beat or feature writer in Green Bay) stick to the long form feature stories that I thought would be the gist of this web site, based on its name "Go Long".....This niche -- the long form feature story/article -- is Mr. Dunne's GREAT talent. Please stick to your niche, Mr. Dunne.

Mr. Dunne is a FINE writer and great, incisive, A-1 journalist. However, I disagree with this thesis. It's the defensive deficiencies in Green Bay that will determine if this team is a Super Bowl entrant, with the poor decisions (or non-decisions) in the offseason the bane of this team: UFA LB Barnes is a nice stopgap as a rookie, but he's mediocre, as is C. Kirksey who has been displaced by Barnes (a rookie UFA!)....with ILB Martin also a rookie who is wonderful when he guesses correctly, but is often out of place. He gets the least snaps of all the ILBs. Moral of the story: Mr. Gute., the GM, failed in his master planning during the previous off-season to solve the ILBs. Turns out Blake Martinez was as is far superior to Mr. Kirksey. Oy vey. In addition, Tyler Lancaster is a nice man, but a mere Fire Hydrant (Bob McGinn's description) and Dean Lowry is overpaid for his production. Result 66% of the starting DL are just "guys." Again, the GM failed in the offseason to address the DL. Result, any team on any given Sunday can beat GB if its rush offense repeat the 2019 SF 49ers performance in the regular season and NFC championship game. As for Mr. Dillon: "yes," bright future....but he's superfluous, actually, as bit player, given Jamal Williams will play vs. Chicago and, of course, Jones is the featured RB. Nice try, Mr. Dunne, but please reassess before expressing the grand statement noted in your article. Thank you, respectfully...signing off.
