Damn, Ty. You put it all in here. Well done, man. I appreciate your work.

This makes me pretty secure that McD needs to go. I’m grateful for the changes he brought. But Allen is the answer. And anyone in the way of that needs to go.

Yeah I haven't had my pitchfork out calling for Clappy's job prior to reading this, but there are so many people saying that he is killing the team/ locker room and now I'm fairly convinced myself. Also wondering why I hadn't been hearing much Bills-wise over the bye week and curious if everyone was waiting for this to drop, as it is a bombshell.

This article is right on the money. I agree with the conclusion that McDermott (dinosaur) and Allen (superman) are incompatible in both strategy and execution. Nothing will change that. GM Beane and owner Pegula aren't blind but won't want to rock the boat and would prefer to stand pat. The only solution I see is for Josh to force the issue with Beane ("I can't reach my potential and won't win with McDermott") and make his position clear with Pegula. The sooner the better.

The telling sign of his insecurities was how cold a handshake he gave Daboll after he was outcoached but barely squeezed out a win against an inferior opponent

Thank you! Great great writing and reporting. Trent Edward’s didn’t have to catch that stray though lmao.

A very, very late Thank You to everyone who took the time to read our series and comment here.

We opened up a thread inside the app if you'd like to share thoughts on the game last night: https://open.substack.com/chat/posts/42709ba1-020a-43ff-a133-7777f9729d4b

This article is a masterpiece and confirms a lot of the sentiments and thoughts we’ve had as fans on the outside, looking in. I really hope The Pegulas and Beane understands what needs to be done.

I also read The Athletic's beat reporting and as Tyler mentions, Tim and Joe don't believe that Terry is going to feel any real pressure to change because on the surface, Clappy provides everything the Bills hadn't had during the Drought. If you don't follow football closely (like I assume most owners do not) you'd have to have a pretty great reason to fire the coach who has the highest winning percentage. But if you dig beneath the surface as these articles do, it seems readily apparent that Clappy is the pretty much the constant that is holding Buffalo back from that elusive SB with their great roster and 17.

Amazing work! Shame on the bills for not giving go long access. I’d rather lose another 4 super bowls than waste Allen’s talents. McD isn’t the right coach anymore.

A lot of it sounds like Dan Reeves with John Elway, an example you brought up. Maybe the most gifted qb to ever play, and Reeves would rather run Sammy Winder up the gut three times and have Elway pooch punt than let the golden arm loose. That’s why Elway had all those comebacks. When he finally got to just play, it was magic. I tell people now that Pat Mahomes is John Elway with more favorable rules and an offensive wizard for a coach. Of course, people just look at the stats as dismiss that, but I digress.

Pat Bowlen finally chose Elway over Reeves. The Bills should do the same here.

I've been a diehard Bills fan my entire life. I can tell you with absolute certainty, if Allen walks (after his contract is up) and McDermott stays, I will be a diehard Josh Allen fan from that point on. I will follow him to his new team, and root as hard for them as I have for Buffalo even if they're playing against the Bills. Allen deserves a SB and if the Pegulas can't get him one, I sure hope he goes somewhere that will.
