Excellent article. Another analogy to Manziel might be Jameis Winston. I remember Wilbon saying regardless of talent, I would never entrust my football franchise to a guy with the maturity issues he had coming out.

So much proof out there that the other *stuff* matters -- just need a front office capable of taking the right calculated risks. Boy, was I wrong on Manziel. Was all in after that Alabama game.

Excellent Article showing what makes Derek Carr who he really is. I only knew that he was an above average quarterback who had a brother named David who probably failed with the Texans because he didn't have an offensive line and got wiped all over stadiums throughout America.

This gives us a picture of the man. And now I know why Adams was so interested in reuniting with him. Rodgers may have a better football mind (and that may be debatable), but Carr has character.

I never thought that I'd cheer Josh McDaniel, in this case I will.

Thanks.

Greatly appreciate it, Boothie. Cannot wait for games in that division. All four could realistically go on a run.

Might be your best piece yet Tyler and you've had some really good ones. Love the college coaching and scouting perspective leading up to their NFL arrival. Gives us a true insight to what these guys were like beforehand.

Love your articles, but have you watched Raider games the past 9 years? Carr has never won a playoff game. Carr also took 3 years off after his broken leg/ankle. He was so scared of a pass rush he just dumped off or threw it away. Rattled. We will see what he does in his 30s, but he has objectively not elevated his team. And nobody can forget his comment that at times better to take a sack over an incomplete pass or 50/50 ball to save a QB rating. Stats look "good" now, but he doesn't ever pass the eyeball test. Pure panick in crunch time. Some improvement past 2 years, but again, no playoff wins.
