Our podcast co-host, Jim Monos, worked in the NFL for 17 years as a scout with the Philadelphia Eagles, the New Orleans Saints, then as the director of personnel with the Buffalo Bills. Now, he’s heading up the XFL’s football operations.

Here is Monos’ weekly look at the NFL…

Don’t Gamble (Unless responsibly)

The Detroit Lions have become everyone’s favorite team, but I am going to need to see a lot more than not being able to slow down the Geno Smith-led Seahawks. On a serious note, the Lions are maxing out Jared Goff on offense with incredible protection ranking second in QB sacked percentage combined with the sixth-ranked rushing yards per game — Goff’s accuracy can shine. Enough compliments, though, because it is time to start winning.

Especially when some people may have hit a parlay with a Lions win. This is going to be a must-follow team moving forward.
