Mike Tomlin doesn't need to muck games up anymore. Russell Wilson torched Cincinnati on Sunday. And at 9-3, Pittsburgh is quickly becoming the top challenger to Buffalo and Kansas City in the AFC.
It really does feel like the Steelers are playing the same brand of complementary football they have played for decades, suddenly with an explosive vertical passing game. Their brand of football travels and if Russell Wilson keeps playing at this high level they feel like a team that could pick off a team or two in the postseason.
Agreed, Matt. Tomlin has maxed out so many exceptionally less talented offenses. Seems like the best group since first half of 2020. And this is from someone who really thought Wilson was just about done. Bengals D is awful, but he was exceptional.
Same! I really thought that they we’re making a mistake moving off Justin Fields, but Russ really seems like an ideal fit with Arthur Smith’s scheme. It’s working out really well for them.
Sometimes I wonder if the people writing this stuff actually watch the games. I have watched every Bengals game and, trust me, what the Steelers did yesterday isn't transferable to other games. Hell, the Steelers just went 7 quarters without scoring a touchdown. Cincy has perhaps the worst defense of this century. Steelers offense will get back to normal vs. the Browns.
Oh, and FYI: The only thing I have to look forward to in the playoffs is seeing how this year's version of the Bills figures out how to lose to Kansas City. And did you forget they lost to Baltimore 35-10? It was a nice game last night but SF is a shell of themselves. Might as well have been facing the Bengals defense.
My gosh. I don’t think anyone did. They did play better the last 5 weeks. Still scoring 99 points and losing to Baltimore, the Chargers, and the Steelers killed the season. Plus losing to NE week one. Win just one of those games and you make the tournament.
Thanks for your hard work. Once I get over this season (can’t believe I don’t get to see Burrow and Chase again for 8 months) I’ll probably subscribe for the offseason stuff
Wow Ken, you have a case of the Mondays. Good read from here, Tyler.
"Crossing midfield was often a Transatlantic voyage for the Steelers in ’21, ’22 and ’23." So VERY well said!

Hang in there, Ken. I picked the Bengals to win the Super Bowl. Didn't anticipate this apocalypse on defense myself. Thanks for reading.
