Defense was refreshing, eh? I know last season’s shootout between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs was instantly dubbed an all-timer, but let’s be honest: There wasn’t much resistance from either team.
That wasn’t the case at Arrowhead Stadium in the rematch. Both defenses gave Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes their best shot — this game was more of a grind — and the Bills prevailed, 24-20. Here on the podcast, we put the win into context. Co-host Jim Monos helped find Sean McDermott, and explains why the Bills’ current power structure works like a well-oiled machine.
On the other end of the spectrum, there’s the Denver Broncos. This offense remains borderline unwatchable.
Just how well did Bailey Zappe play for the New England Patriots? Better than you may think.
And to wrap the pod up, we talk tight ends. Monos actually played a major role in the New Orleans Saints selecting Jimmy Graham back in 2010. He looks back at this scouting experience. To get the full story, “Blood and Guts: How Tight Ends Save Football” is now available everywhere books are sold.
Let’s call my co-host Nostramonos, too. You may enjoy the start of this show, a quick look back to one of our first episodes.
