Podcast: This is the best sports weekend of the year
Hands down, it doesn't get better than NFL Divisional Playoff Weekend. We get you primed for the games with Jim Monos and, special guest, former NFL safety George Teague.
March Madness is fun. When the NBA and NHL playoffs collide with the NFL draft, that’s a hoot, too.
But for my money, this is as good as it gets for a sports weekend.
Two exceptional games on Saturday. Two exceptional games on Sunday. We’ll all be watching every second of it.
To get you primed for the action, this week’s Go Long Podcast is split into two parts which can be accessed at the Apple, Spotify and YouTube links below. In Part I, former Buffalo Bills director of personnel — and current XFL director of football ops — Jim Monos offers his fresh perspective. He’s rolling with the Bills once more. You’ll love his take on what’s happening behind the scenes with all of these prospective GMs and head coaches being interviewed, too. (Note: We recorded on Thursday night, before Joe Schoen was named the Giants GM.)
And in Part II, I chat with former Packers and Cowboys safety George Teague.
We got into his entire career for this Q&A over the offseason. He is a man defined by very specific, very iconic moments on the field and, on the pod, Teague breaks down one of those moments: his 101-yard interception return for a touchdown in Detroit. Teague shares a wild story from that season, when he was losing weight in extreme amounts. Also, Teague has some thoughts on Mike McCarthy saying players were “nervous” for the Cowboys’ loss to the 49ers.
Thanks for listening, everyone.
