Podcast: The AFC East is suddenly a rock fight
Apparently the division will not simply peel over and die at the sight of Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Robert Saleh's group came to play and the Bills were offered a reality check.
Programming note! “The Morning After” column will run Tuesday AM this week. We pushed back a day with my profile of Demario Davis going live Monday.
Nobody knows yet if Zach Wilson is the long-term answer for the New York Jets.
Apparently it doesn’t matter.
This roster constructed by GM Joe Douglas proved its ready to win now in a 20-17 statement win over the Super Bowl-contending Buffalo Bills. Outside of two plays, the Jets completely shut down one of the league’s most electrifying offenses, Wilson didn’t kill his team with picks and — my goodness — what a drive to win the game at the end.
The Jets ran directly at the Bills through a 13-play, 86-yard march that sure harkened back to some rough moments one year ago for Buffalo.
Of course, the 2021 Bills quickly whipped themselves into shape after rough losses to Jacksonville, Indy and New England. Can this 2022 team do the same? We discuss. It’s a much tougher division with the Jets defense, a red-hot, Tua-led Miami offense and Bill Belichick up to his old tricks.
Also, are the Green Bay Packers officially dead? This 15-9 defeat at Ford Field was an all-time bad loss for Aaron Rodgers and company. He isn’t running Matt LaFleur’s offense.
Also, I break the Jeff Saturday news to Monos mid-pod. He is predictably stunned.
Appreciate you all listening and watching.
