Podcast: Six games?
In the face of disgusting accusations, Deshaun Watson may miss less than half the NFL season. We discuss. Also, how common is tampering in the NFL? Co-host Jim Monos has an idea.
The uproar was immediate and justified. On one hand, Sue L. Robinson made it quite clear in her report that Deshaun Watson was in the wrong and showed no remorse. On the other, the former federal judge said the NFL should suspend him only six games.
Something doesn’t add up. The NFL can now appeal.
We try to make sense of it all on this episode of the Go Long Podcast.
Also, the NFL conveniently punished the Miami Dolphins and owner Stephen Ross 24 hours later. It’s no coincidence. They’d love for the country to be talking about anything other than Watson right now. But how common is tampering behind the scenes? Far more than we can imagine.
Finally, we rip around the league. A training camp practice in Pittsford, N.Y. looks quite different than one in Latrobe, Penn., and yet that’s by design for the Steelers and Bills. Which players are standing out one week in? Isaiah McKenzie sure appears ready to seize the slot job.
We close the show with another edition of your most outlandish questions — incredible entries this week.
