Podcast: On '13 seconds,' a Bills-Chiefs epic, Championship Sunday ahead
We put the spectacular playoff game between the Bills and Chiefs under the microscope one final time and look ahead to both conference championships on the Go Long Podcast.
Where to even begin?
This was a dizzying game we’ll all be replaying for years. And while we absolutely preview Bengals-Chiefs and Rams-49ers on this episode of the Go Long Podcast, we thought it’d be a good idea to put Kansas City’s 42-36 overtime win over Buffalo under the microscope one final time.
With one squib and one stop, there’s a good chance a Super Bowl parade would’ve been held in downtown Buffalo in the near future. A finish like this deserves full examination — so many questions remain unanswered. We do our best to figure out what in the heck happened at Arrowhead Stadium.
Josh Allen was spectacular. The Bills’ quarterback had an answer for every Patrick Mahomes body blow. Getting back to a moment like this is never easy, however. Hence, the pall cast over Western New York this week.
With coaches and players likely to change around Allen this offseason, co-host Jim Monos takes listeners through what’s next. The most important person in the building at One Bills Drive may be former Miami Hurricane Kevin Dorsey.
Also, here’s a column on why “13 Seconds” is on the head coach, Sean McDermott. Quite a bit goes into execution.
Of course, the beat goes on for four other teams. We preview the conference championships as well on this episode, and be on the lookout for a feature at Go Long soon. I chatted with one player the Bengals will be counting on in this AFC Championship. Nobody should be dismissing Cincy in this game.
As for that NFC West rematch? The Rams must decide how to utilize running back Cam Akers after his fumbles against Tampa Bay. They’re saying all of the right things but one mistake could change plans in a hurry. Those 49ers will be bringing the physicality.
