Podcast: Inside Tayland Humphrey's transformation
He's one of the largest players in the draft. From Texas to Kansas to Florida to Louisiana, it's been quite a journey of self-discovery, too. A chat with defensive tackle Tayland Humphrey inside.
The rules can twist and turn as much as they desire. This will always be a big man’s game.
Every defense still needs a block of granite in the middle.
That’s what Tayland Humphrey is banking on. The 325-pounder out of Louisiana believes he is the best run stopper in the entire draft. (He actually was 398 pounds not too long ago, too.)
On the Go Long Podcast, the Ragin’ Cajun sits down for an hour to discuss his total transformation these last five years — it doesn’t have much to do with weight, too. From growing up in Texas to JUCO at Hutch CC in Kansas to FIU to Louisiana, he has been forced to mature in all sorts of ways. He never had his biological dad around but learned all about true hard work from his mother and grandfather.
And at FIU, everything could’ve fallen apart for Humphrey. He explains.
I think you’ll enjoy this conversation.
