Podcast: Does the NFL have a gambling problem?
The league (understandably) wants to tap into this treasure trove of a resource, but it comes with a cost.
Gambling has been around since the dawn of professional sports. But it’s never been this easy and this ubiquitous in our culture. With another round of players suspended, including Indianapolis’ Isaiah Rodgers, it’s fair to wonder how bad this could get for the NFL. We explored in the mailbag and continue the conversation here with podcast co-host Jim Monos.
Like all vices, this can be regulated.
Players are all educated on the rules, hypocritical as they may be.
But the owners must maintain the public trust and shudder to think how many lives are being changed for worse around the country.

First time listening (thanks for fixing the RSS BTW), a couple impressions:
Hate to say it, but on the topic at hand, Tyler was bringing only the feels, with Jim left to bring the reals. Ty really didn't seem to grapple with how Jim's ideas could address his concerns, while Jim was too tied to his defined categories to really try to breach that defensive line. Good discussion with plenty of food for thought nonetheless.
Ty's voice sounds a lot more like mine than I was prepared for
“But the owners must maintain the public trust and shudder to think how many lives are being changed for worse around the country.”
Key line in your synopsis Tyler. Greed is over taking morals in our country.
Thanks, Steve
