Uh-oh. There’s a gleam in Jerry Jones’ eye. His high-fives in the suite are packing an all-time punch.

Super Bowl hopes feel real once again.

Can the Dallas Cowboys reach the conference championship for the first time since 1995? With quarterback Dak Prescott, there’s always hope and Prescott enjoyed a career game in his team’s wild-card drubbing of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

To learn more about this Cowboys team, we check in with Michael Gehlkin of The Dallas Morning News. For my money, Michael is one of the smartest beat writers in the country. I think you’ll enjoy our conversation. We discuss Prescott’s unique leadership style — specifically his (literal) magic touch. Also, what’s up with kicker Brett Maher? Reliable all season long, Maher missed four extra points in Tampa Bay. Michael chatted with the kicker inside the visitor’s locker room late Monday night.

Right about now is typically when the Cowboys disappoint. Jones has been central to this team’s inability to win a championship.

But there’s no reason this roster cannot get to the big game. It’s loaded with talent and Prescott can make anyone a believer.

All links and embeds are below. Also, here’s a recap of Bills-Dolphins with Jim Monos, icymi.

If you’re going to be in town this weekend, head out to our live show Saturday night at Fattey Beer’s Orchard Park location. Word on the street is that Graeter's Ice Cream will be on site, too. See you then.

Nice try getting a Cowboys beat writer spill the beans on Jerry Jones' "activities". That's a career-limiting move if ever there is one. Maybe there will be a book when he's gone. :)
