Podcast: C.J. Stroud and the 'S2' debate
We take it to the podcast with co-host Jim Monos. How much of a 'red alert' is this 18%? Stroud was damn good at Ohio State, after all. There are many variables at a franchise-defining decision.
Bryce Young appears to be leaving C.J. Stroud behind and one reason, undoubtedly, is the wide discrepancy between the two quarterbacks’ scores on “S2 Cognition.”
Our Bob McGinn had the story on the scores with full context from football execs.
On the podcast, I discuss with longtime personnel man, Jim Monos.
How much should teams factor in Stroud’s results? Is this “red alert” a sign he’ll bust like other Ohio State quarterbacks? As always, the great quarterback debate is… complicated. You can access the Go Long Podcast right here and everywhere you get pods with all links, all embeds below.
McGinn’s entire 39th Annual NFL Draft Series is available to subscribers. Live today is a piece on the defensive linemen and another mystery: Jalen Carter.
Please ask Bob McGinn, "Who was it that tried to get CJ Stroud to slide down the draft board?" My strong suspicion is that it was the Texans trying to make sure that the Panther's owner would force his front office committed franchise "Hari Kari". But the only person that actually knows for sure who was behind the "CJ Stroud failed the S2" ploy is Bob McGuinn. So I would love to hear his respond to that exact question.
Same with the publishing of the S2 here. Props to you guys for getting that scoop. The GMs and scouts aren't finding out about his S2 after it was published here.
