Podcast: Chris Howard on Michigan glory, Brady, Woodson and... ridiculous Coughlin fines
The 1997 national champion running back relives a life in football. He saw a gleam in a certain quarterback's eye way back when, too.
We’re all about 90s nostalgia here.
Chumbawamba. Pogs. The Charlotte Hornets. Inject it all directly into our collective Go Long veins.
So, heck yeah, we’ll reminisce about those undefeated ‘97 Michigan Wolverines. Why not?
Chris Howard was the starting running back on a team that featured Heisman Trophy-winner Charles Woodson and a young back-up quarterback named Tom Brady. After joining Howard’s excellent podcast “Plugged In” to talk Blood and Guts, Howard returned the favor to relive those glory days in Ann Arbor.
He saw a fire in the eye of Brady before the rest of the world. Howard also has entertaining stories to share on his own football upbringing in Louisiana, Woodson’s basketball game, Lloyd Carr’s unique motivation tactics and an NFL career that didn’t quite go as planned. Tom Coughlin sure was a treat in Jacksonville. Forget “Coughlin Time.” Howard was dished a harsh lesson on, uh, Coughlin Socks.
