Jaxson Dart placed a right hand on the back of a lineman and picked up steam around the left end to chew up more yardage. He’s slippery, explosive, tough. A gamer built for any era. For all of his swag and “6-7” references, this 22-year-old plays with an old-school temperament. This was a Lombardi Sweep to daylight.

The dynamic rookie quarterback crossed the 20-yard line, fully prepared to turn his team’s 10-point lead into a rout. At that point, 20 minutes to go, Dart was outplaying the No. 1 pick from the previous year. It appeared the embattled Giants would finally get a reprieve.

Then, disaster.
