This time of year always brings up memories both good and funny in terms of the build-up to the draft. I don’t know what blows my mind away more, those who create a seven-round mock draft or the people who actually pay attention to mock drafts. Mel Kiper and Todd McShay do an incredible job with draft coverage and they are tied in to a lot of front offices so they are worth paying attention to, but they have never been in a draft room and do not have the stories that we are able to share with you here at Go Long.

Here a few memorable tales to tell from my time as a scout with the New Orleans Saints and director of personnel with the Buffalo Bills…

During draft meetings in 2016, Rex and Rob Ryan lost their temper with us that was better than any episode you could see on HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”
