The scene in Denver postgame sure was different, wasn't it?
This applies to all teams, but especially here. I think it's easy to be get trapped in a Buffalo Bubble and assume the best players will stick around forever. He was drafted here. He says all the right things about the city, etc. But the Josh Allen that night looked like a man completely exhausted. With everything.
I came away from this conversation thinking he was genuinely rejuvenated -- "extremely rejuvenated" -- about everything ahead. New stadium, new coach and, most importantly, new baby at home.
I love Sean. I think he's a good man. I think he built a stellar structure.
But there is no doubt in my mind that working for him would be exhausting.
There's a line in the first scene of The Social Network: "Dating you is like dating a StairMaster."
I imagine - with all love and respect for Sean and his exceptional level of grit - that playing for him would probably feel that way after 8 years. It's a kid's game, after all, right?
It's so refreshing to see a rejuvenated Josh soaking in all the life changes in the offseason. This is certainly a different Josh than the one we've seen sitting dejectedly on the sidelines all too often during the past few seasons. I can't wait to see him unleashed with a decidedly more aggressive and creative playbook along with a quick connection with DJ Moore.
Hard to draw too much from these OTA practices but I do think they're important for both Josh Allen and DJ Moore. They've got to establish some chemistry. You can see the effect of a QB and new WRs *not* getting that work in. Remember Aaron Rodgers' final year in Green Bay with all of those young receivers? Allen was practicing the day I talked to him (a non-media access day) and then practicing again when we were allowed to watch. It really does look like he's trying to get the ball to Moore as much as possible.
His route running is on a different level. So effortless.
Perfect. CONGRATS, Trace. We still treasure those newborn days with all three kids. In a weird way, I really miss pacing the first floor of our first home with Ella in my arms. Bleary-eyed, sleep-deprived, praying for one straight hour. Love it.

Why was Ray Davis stunned Josh was 30 years old? It’s never explained in the piece.
He didn’t think he was that old. That was my interpretation anyway.
