In addition to the three coaches listed in the article as winning championships after 9+ years with a team, Bill Belichick won Super Bowls in his 15th, 17th and 19th seasons in New England.
Ty “All I Write About is 13 Seconds” Dunne with another long, loonng McDermott hit piece. Did the world really need yet another rehash of a game that happened 4 years ago?
For the record, maybe what happened is the better team (barely) won (barely). The real answer is the Bills had no answer for Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and particularly Tyreek Hill in those closing seconds. You may remember Hill roasting the Bills for a 70 yard TD a few plays earlier. The Bills lacked the speed in the secondary to contend with him. Is that a coaching issue or a personnel one? You decide.
The one blameable decision there was kicking the touchback. That’s on Sean. Every coach in the league would have played soft coverage in that situation, particularly when going against Hill. The Chiefs made plays when they needed to because they had better players. Including a 59 yard FG.
Anyway, it’s long past time to relitigate that game.
BTW, Brandon Beane’s fingerprints are all over this. One could conclude that both McDermott and Beane are feeling some heat, as Sean has taken a few opportunities to talk about Jakobi Myers.
Anyway, if we’re pitting McDermott v Beane, my question would be, where are the stars? Beane has invested a ton of draft capital and salary for that matter on the defensive side of the ball. Where are the stars?
Welp, we actually write about much more than 13 Seconds. But that does constitute as one of the greatest collapses in recent NFL history and it’s an event many people involved with the game still want to discuss to this day.

I'm talking about the first Super Bowl with that specific team.
Belichick won it all in Year No. 2.
Once again, well done! Great piece! Go Bills!

So, it’s relevant.
