Happy Hour: Longtime Packers exec Andrew Brandt to join subscribers
He'll share his wealth of insight on Monday night.
Training camp is closing in. Real football. A beautiful thing.
I’ve been spending time chipping away at longform stories that’ll drop throughout the month of August to preview this 2023 NFL season. So, as we inch closer, let’s welcome on another Happy Hour guest. Another man who knows how this sport truly works: Andrew Brandt.
Brandt served as the Green Bay Packers’ vice president from 1999- ‘08 where he negotiated all player contracts — including deals to Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers — while managing the salary cap and handling all legal/business matters for players. The stories he has from those Packers days are endless.
Since then, Brandt has done a marvelous job of explaining how the NFL works to the masses for various outlets, including Sports Illustrated. You can read his excellent “Sunday Seven” newsletter and listen to his podcast right here. Brandt is also a strong follow on Twitter whenever news breaks and, most importantly, the executive director of the Jeffrey S. Moorad Center for the Study of Sports Law at Villanova University.
Imagine we will all learn a ton.
Ask Brandt anything you want this coming Monday at 7 p.m. (EST).
All log-in information is below with all past Happy Hour replays in the archives.
See you then!
