As far as I'm concerned, watching Love and the young WR and TE develop together will replace the excitement of rooting for a SB appearance....for now. I'm getting ready for a bunch of noon games and third string announcers, but it will be worth it.

Just getting the third string announcers would be worth it!

Hey Dave...is that you? (A silly question, of course.)

That all sounds great for now, but I doubt there's a ton of excitement if the packers aren't playing in meaningful games like the majority of teams without top tier QB play. Teams can rebuild for 5+ years hoping just to get back to the playoffs, much less a SB. I get that many fans are ready to move on, but at the end of the day it will only be worth it if this next era goes as well as packer fans seem to hope it will. I'm more skeptical. Love Rodgers or hate him losing an all time great QB usually doesn't end well for the teams losing that type of talent.

It sounds like they were losing him no matter what they did. This way they get a chance to help the rebuild.

Very good point on failure of prior Pack mgmt and Mr. Rodgers to value the TE position. This was an epic case of blinders by both. They seem to be in cahoots with eliminating the middle of the field to throw to, and the inept results speak for it. AR only seemed to throw to TE's as a 3rd or 4th read, and almost never over the middle. Tragic.

When QB rating is the primary goal, using the entire field becomes secondary instead of primary consideration.

Agreed, hence 1 lonely SB appearance in 15 years as starting QB, including a multitude of shameful post season performances. In the 1 SB appearance, MR. Rodgers actually used the middle of the field.

Even if the guy Love replaced wanted to remain a Packer, which clearly he did not, he would likely be gone in two years or less.

I prefer not to be one of those who are the butt of an old GB joke:

Q: How many people does it take to change a burnt-out light bulb at Lambeau Field?

A: Five. One to change the bulb and four to talk about how great the old one was.
