Team USA gets it done. What a joy it was reveling in victory on enemy soil, too. My wife and I crossed the northern border for a mini getaway last weekend and, as luck had it, the gold-medal game was Sunday morn. Surrounded by Canadians at the hotel bar, we did our best to rep the red, white and blue. Thankfully, the bartender did not poison my Bloody Mary.

Impossible for anyone to be a prisoner of the moment after this overtime epic.

This was no doubt the best hockey game I’ve seen in my lifetime.

A perfect time to reach out to my first roommate at Syracuse, a proud Toronto native. We haven’t spoken in six or seven years. So far, he has not responded to my stream of USA emojis. (I’ll keep you updated.)

Alright, let’s wrap up our February Mailbag. We’ve got a little bit of everything once again.

  • Ranking the 10 head-coaching hires.

  • Best free agent on the market?

  • Does the NFL have a scheduling/alignment crisis?

  • Thoughts on Ray Handley, the coach who disappeared from public eye.

  • Why it was time for Baltimore and Buffalo to try something new.

  • Rooney Rule, Bears future, Deshaun Watson, rule changes, more.
