"Haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Jets HQ — their PR department does not return our emails — but I’d imagine the sensation is something like getting sprayed by a dozen skunks."

OK, now THAT was funny!

Kyler would be an excellent fit for Indy. Steichen does a tremendous job of simplifying the first read for a qb. And Indy is crazy if they bring back Jones as the starter. He's an oft injured guy that's heavily reliant on his legs coming off a torn Achilles. As we saw with Rodgers and Cousins it can take almost a full year and a half just to get your base and leg drive back after that injury and neither depended on their running game as much as Jones does.

Mac Jones or even (shudder) Rodgers would be a good fit for Minny's pass scheme.

Great stuff as always… But I'm a nerd so I have to ask...Seattle represented the worst possible opponent, exasperating both situations..,,, don't you mean exacerbating?

Ty, you know better than me, but it seems from the outside that every year the Bills didn't make it to the Super Bowl, 13 Seconds loomed larger in hindsight. Like, it was bad when it happened, but there was a sense that the team's right there. But now 4-5 years later, they haven't broken through and so you look back at that with even more regret.

(side note: I've always been amazed that Mahomes gets like no credit for that comeback. That's an all-timer, and the story has always been about the Bills. It's honestly the reason it didn't break my heart because the list of guys who could do that is him.)
