Beyond this season, nobody has a clue what the Packers will look like. But right now? Aaron Rodgers is two wins at home from reaching his second Super Bowl. The pressure's on.
MY 15 SECONDS OF FAME @ 1:16:15! I was mentioned by Bob as "one of our readers". Wow, 30 years of following Bob from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel to bobmcginn.com to the Athletic to Go Long has PAID OFF. "TEE-puh GAL-ee-eye" IT IS!!
Well, now that that's taken care of, let's get out there and BEAT THE NINERS, then BEAT THE BUCS, then BEAT THE CHIEFS. GO Packers!! SUPER BOWL OR BUST!
Would love to read a piece written by Bob on the early Rodgers years that he discussed in this ep. Back when he was the elitist with slicked back hair that the locker room didn’t respect, before he became the elitist with slicked back hair that the locker room does respect.
“Offensive Genius”. That was Infante when he was suddenly 10-6. Not. We all loved Infante that magical season. But genius is not a word that should be used to describe play callers. McCarthy, Mangenius were until they weren’t.
Plays work when your players execute, especially when you can block on running plays.
Genius was Barry Sanders. Infante could have had him but Brotz (a name I had forgotten) wasn’t a genius and took Mandarich, probably because John Madden had talked him up so much.
All that lead to 30 years of Hall of Fame QB play and this years off season.
by the way, this podcast is outstanding. And yes, Rodgers was not good his first couple years, but Love has such inaccuracy and deer in the headlights vibe, that I don't see him ever being even a competent starter. Sure hope I'm wrong.
Ep 19: Now, it's Super Bowl or Bust
Agree with Bob’s thoughts on Love…
How can you have any conclusions…
Bobs willingness to compare him to Rodgers at year two was spot on…
At year 2, Rodgers was not ready….
And neither is Love…
Will Love be a great player…no way to tell…but right now Love is clearly not ready…
And as “ready” as Rodgers was his first year…the Packers went 6-10 Rodgers first full year as a starter…that was after 3 full years as a back up
So let’s be realistic…Bob’s point of how can you know is exactly right
This podcast is like Shawshank redemption…once you start watching Shawshank on tv you can’t stop….
Once you start listening to this podcast you have to keep listening …
Nice job Bob and Ty

It would be great to have Bob and Ty answer some listener questions at some point. Maybe next week since the Packers have a bye?

Very nice, but if Bob's gotta play this Boolay thing for draft series, count my ass out.

Since you asked--not my cup of tea. Act like you've been there before. Not a fan of taunting or showboating. But I'm a dinosaur, so whatever.
Stumblebums!
Bob is also right about Aquib Talib…the guy is so unpretentious and just “tells it like it is”….
Jordan Love is just awful
